Privacy

Classycal has no servers and no accounts. What you keep in it never reaches us.

Your calendars and tasks

Classycal reads and writes your events and reminders through iOS, in the calendars and lists you already have: iCloud, Google, Exchange and others. They keep syncing through those accounts, as they always have; Classycal never sends them to us. Its own settings, sets, templates and hidden events stay on your iPhone, shared only with its widgets, and its alerts are prepared there too.

Your location

Only if you allow it, and only while you use Classycal: to suggest places near you, show the weather where you are, tell you when to leave for an event, switch a set when you arrive somewhere, and remind you of a task at a place. The last position seen stays on your iPhone, to know which forecast to show and where a trip starts, also when alerts are prepared again in the background.

Apple’s services

Place searches, maps, travel times and the weather are answered by Apple (Apple Maps, Apple Weather), which receives what each request needs: the words typed and the area around you, an event’s place and where the trip to it starts, a location for the forecast. Apple handles them under Apple’s privacy policy, which protects them as this one does, and may process them outside Switzerland, including in the United States. Classycal Plus is sold by Apple through the App Store: we never see your payment details or who you are, and the app only learns which plan you have and until when.

Links you open

A place, a video call or a link opens in the app that handles it (Maps or Google Maps, as chosen in Settings; FaceTime, Zoom, Teams…), under that app’s own policy.

What we don’t do

No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. Classycal contains no third-party code, and nothing about you is sold or shared.

Your choices

Each access can be withdrawn at any time in the iPhone’s Settings, under Apps, then Classycal: calendars, reminders, location, notifications. The weather and departure alerts can be turned off in Classycal’s own Settings. What Classycal keeps on your iPhone stays there until you change it or delete the app, which erases it all; your events and reminders stay in your accounts.

This site

No cookies. The site is hosted by a provider that handles each visit (address, page, time) to deliver and protect it, and may do so outside Switzerland. Visits are counted by an analytics service that sets no cookie and keeps nothing that identifies you, only the page, the site you came from, the browser, the kind of device and the country.

Hearing about the launch

If you leave your email on this site to hear when Classycal is on the App Store, we keep that address, the day you left it and the page’s language, nothing else, with your consent. They are stored in a database that keeps its data in the European Union. We use them to send you one email when Classycal launches, then delete them all. Until then, write to [email protected] to have yours removed.

Writing to us

If you write to [email protected], we receive your address and your message, use them only to answer you, and delete them once they are no longer needed.

Who we are

Classycal is made by Reality Tape, in Geneva, Switzerland, which is responsible for your data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, for visitors from the European Union, the GDPR. You can ask what we hold about you (nothing, unless you wrote to us or left your email here), have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. You may also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, or to the authority of your country. Should this policy change, the new one is published here with its date.
